BCom final year
I am a bcom final year student and preparing for CAT07. I am yet to join any coaching center. As I just about to start my preparation I need proper guidance. I have seen last years paper and felt with a good preparation I can easily make the quant and data interpretation section but English section was horrible. I have to give a lots of importance to the English section but I am not sure about where to start. How to go about. Though I have not joined any coaching center I have collected the basic reading material of IMS, Just started looking into the English materials. Things are not looking but that tough. Can I think if I go though the brms thoroughly it will prepare me enough to tackle the CAT questions. Which other coaching center materials should I collect , esp. for the English section, is there any book … yes lots of questions…but being a neophyte I need help
Don’t take last year’s
Don’t take last year’s English paper to judge your knowledge in English. Undoubted , it was the toughest paper in the history of CAT and for your information(as given in this site) ppl with 0 marks got more than 30%tile in English, which means 30% got less than zero. In fact I knew few persons with negative mark and more than 20%tile.. With a mark of 5 you could have easily crossed 75%tile and that’s not bad. About IMS English brm , yes its good for starting but as I have said many times before “after reading all those brms you can say you have completed 10% of your preparation†you can say those books are preparatory books, the real preparation starts after that. Your Next Qs – which coaching center to join – that’s the questions asked by all the newbie and believe me 25% of this forum topics are related to this question. Join any of the top 6 coaching center (TIME, IMS ,CF, CL, PT, Erudite)which is near to you bcz coaching center helps/guides in your preparation. It will never do any wonder for you. And its not that only guys from only one coaching center makes it into IIM.
